Judging: Wednesday, August 17 at, 9 a.m.
Quilt Show: Wednesday, August 17, 6 to -8 p.m.
Thursday August 18. and Friday, August 19, 12 noon to 8 p.m.
Saturday, August 20, 3 to 8 p.m.
Quilt Pick-up: Saturday, August 20 after 9 p.m.

RULES:
1. Entries taken on Tuesday, August 16, from noon to 8 p.m. No entry fees.
2. Judging will take place on Wednesday, August 17, at 9 a.m. All decisions of the judges are final.
3. All entries and winning ribbons can be picked up on Saturday, August 20, after 9 p.m. Claim checks MUST be shown to receive items.
4. Ribbons will be awarded as follows:

Best of Show in each of the three quilted categories

Best of Class and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each of the classes.

People’s Choice

Participation for all entries 2011 Pemberville Free Fair Wall-Hanging Challenge
Each entrant will construct a landscape wall-hanging, using fabrics of his/her own choosing, with a minimum size of 24”x24”, and a maximum size of 36”x36”. Your wall-hanging may be any shape as long as the outside dimensions fall within these guidelines. You may use any piecing technique you choose. Each entry must be hand or machine quilted. All wall-hangings must be finished with a binding and ready for display, but do not need a hanging sleeve. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Wall-hangings must be brought to the Pemberville Elementary School during regular quilt entry times. All participants can pick up their wall-hangings, as well as ribbons, during regular quilt release times on Saturday.

Categories and Classes

Quilts must be entered in one of the following quilted categories as stated. Final determination of the quilted category will be made by the Quilt Show Committee. Quilt size is a consideration only in the miniature category. All other categories are determined by technique or intended use, not size.

Each quilt will be placed into the following categories:

Category A: HAND QUILTED
Class A: Bed Quilts
Class B: Wall-Hangings

Category B: MACHINE QUILTED
Class A: Bed Quilts
Class B: Wall-Hangings

Category C: PROFESSIONAL LONG-ARM MACHINE QUILTED
Class A: Bed Quilts
Class B: Wall-Hangings
The following classes may be hand or machine quilted:
Class C: Baby Quilts (Crib-size or smaller for young children)
Class D: Miniatures (Scaled down versions of large quilts, less than
4002 in.)
Class E: Clothing and Accessories (Any items that is worn or functional)

Please also consider the technique used for your item:
1. Pieced (piecing predominates)
2. Appliqué (appliqué predominates)
3. Mixed Media (two or more construction techniques, not including
quilting)
4. Open Class (whole cloth, embroidery, painted or other surface
design)

JUNIOR QUILTS are made by young quilters, ages 16 and under. Quilt tops may be quilted or tied. This class will not be judged. If the maker would like the quilt to be judged, please enter it in the categories above.

ANTIQUE QUILTS are 50 years old or older and should display the art of quilt-making in technique, form and function. No machine quilted items please. This class will not be judged.
